How to Restore Database in WordPress

How to Restore Database in WordPress? | Restore database is needed when you are trying to migrate your website from old web hosting to new web hosting. Restore database means you will get back your web content include post, comment, picture, plugins and more.

Before you want to restore the database, you need to create a new database first in new web hosting. After you create the new database, then you can follow this step.

Restore Database in WordPress

In this tutorial, we just show how to restore WordPress database only. For other platforms, maybe it same process but it has a little bit different. Follow this.

Step 1 Log into your cPanel.

Step 2 Go to Database section and click on phpMyAdmin.

Step 3 Choose your database that you have created just now.

Step 4 Click on tab “Import” then “Choose File” to upload your database. After that, click on the “Go” button and wait for complete restore.

Connect Database to WordPress

After you finish restoring the database, now you must connect it to your WordPress site. To do it, follow this steps.

Step 1Log into your cPanel.

Step 2 Navigate to your wp-config.php then click edit.

Step 3 Change “DB_USER”, “DB_NAME” and “DB_HOST”. This info you can get while you create a new database.
